Timeshare Relief was founded in 2004 by two former timeshare owners, David and Cindy MacMillan, who made a timeshare purchase in Las Vegas and quickly found that timeshare ownership wasn’t exactly the slice of paradise they had expected it to be. They tried using their timeshare on multiple occasions, but found it virtually impossible to use with their busy schedules and four children, each on schedules of their own. As the timeshare maintenance fees continued to increase year after year, David and Cindy realized they were paying annual maintenance fees for a piece of paradise they weren’t even using.

They tried to sell the timeshare initially, under the distinct impression that their timeshare purchase was an investment. After all, that’s what the timeshare salesperson who sold them the timeshare had told them, and they believed him. However, they quickly discovered otherwise when they tried to sell it and couldn’t get rid of their timeshare, even after paying a well-known timeshare listing company an ample upfront fee one too many times. They even tried giving their timeshare away, but there were no takers.

Frustrated by the timeshare resale industry, David and Cindy started doing research and learned that there were many other timeshare owners who were having the same experiences with timeshare ownership. Many owners looking to put an end to their annual maintenance fees have tried to rent timeshares, sell timeshares, donate timeshares, give back timeshares and even give away timeshares, all of which resulted in the same outcome – another unwanted timeshare maintenance fee bill the very next year.
